EPR means the responsibility of a producer for the environmentally sound management of the product until the end of its life.
The following entities need to register on the centralized portal developed by CPCB:
I. Producer (P)
II. Importer (I)
III. Brand owner (BO)
IV. Plastic Waste Processor engaged in (a) recycling, (b) waste to energy, (c) waste to oil, and (d) industrial composting.
E-Waste EPR Registration
E-Waste EPR is the responsibility of every producer of electrical
and electronic equipment (EEE) for channelisation of e-waste to an authorised dismantler /
recycler to ensure environmentally sound management of such waste. EPR authorisation is
mandatory and has to be obtained by all the producers including importers, e-retailers/on-line
sellers/e-bay etc. of EEE covered in E-Waste (Management) Rules.
Battery-Waste EPR Registration
As per Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022, Producer has the obligation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for the Battery that they introduce in the market to ensure the attainment of the recycling or refurbishing obligations. Producers are required to fulfill their EPR obligation by ensuring that waste battery is recycled through certified waste battery recyclers to meet assigned EPR targets.
Biomedical Waste Authorization
Bio-Medical Waste Authorisation is required for the generation, collection, reception, storage,
transportation, treatment, processing, disposal or any other form of handling of Bio-
Medical Waste (BMW) in accordance with Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.
Hazardous Waste Authorization
Hazardous Waste Authorization (HWA) is required for the generation, collection, reception, storage, transportation, treatment, disposal or any other manner of handling of hazardous and other wastes listed in Schedules I, II and Parts B & D of Schedule III of the Hazardous Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
